Aswin worked on multiple issues across multiple repositories on Cloud Native Buildpacks. First, he worked on React - TypeScript to fix the search result retrieval issue. Then, he worked on bot creation with GitHub Actions. He corrected documentation of multiple repositories and finally, worked automation with rake on Ruby on Rails. Aswin's mentor was Joe Kutner, Software Architect @ Salesforce. Joe guided Aswin throughout the mentorship program by helping him with any doubts and confusion and made sure to provide a smooth and great learning environment. Aswin also got to work with many other contributors and connect with them. Aswin felt welcomed in discussions posted on Slack or Github. Any doubt and confusion were warmly addressed by contributors and project maintainers. Aswin got to learn about Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), image, containerization, and container-orchestration. He also got to learn about Cloud Native Buildpacks and how it is making image creation simplistic. He learned about open source, its strong and diverse community. Plus, he learned about Ruby on Rails, Typescript, Github Actions, CI/CD, and countless others during the process.
